Two spacious rooms Beach life!!

Room for rent | Long Beach, CA, USA

Beautiful belmont shores beach apartment! Live Two blocks away from Rosie’s dog beach and one block away from vibrant 2nd street shops!! Home has a shared garage perfect for storing bikes and outdoor water crafts! Unfortunately too small for a car but chill street parking and a shared driveway makes things very easy. This lovely apartment is a three bedroom 1.5 bathroom that is a shared home. Two bedrooms are available to rent for one person. I have absolutely loved living here snd unfortunately need to move to care for my Ederly mother. This is a great set up for someone who needs a room and an office or a studio! One room gets incredible morning light ( I used It as my art and music studio) and the other bedroom is up against bamboo so it is shaded and private and gives incredible sounds of the bamboo leaves very relaxing. The room mate is a kind and courteous professional woman who is very active in her body building and ballet practice. She has a well behaved golden doodle named Sammie. Unfortunately she has a cat allergies so no cats!! The shared areas are a downstairs living room, dining room with a Maintained wood fireplace. The kitchen is downstairs as well with all new appliances. The bathroom shower is shared ( which is why it has been kept as just a two person residence) but the roommate has her own half bath attached to her room. This home is owned by a family friend of the roommate - very kind landlord who takes great care of the place and all new floors are in the apt. I really loved living here the location is incredible! The ocean breeze hits the home and keeps it fresh and cool! There is flexibility on start date - looking for someone by August first but if the right person wants to move in earlier I can move out as early as July 10th. Please No smokers and sorry no couples.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rooms for Rent in Long Beach, CA

  • How many rooms for rent are available in Long Beach, CA right now?

Roomster currently shows 49 active rooms for rent across Long Beach. That inventory spans Belmont Shore, Downtown, California Heights, Marina Pacifica, and surrounding neighborhoods, with renters often comparing options based on proximity to the beach, Cal State Long Beach, employment centers, and major commute routes. Fresh room listings move quickly in this premium coastal market when they include furnished setup, utilities covered, or short-term flexibility.

  • What are the best Long Beach neighborhoods to rent a room?

That depends on lifestyle and budget. Belmont Shore appeals to renters seeking beachfront living with upscale dining and entertainment. Downtown Long Beach attracts professionals and young adults with urban amenities and walkability. California Heights offers neighborhood character with mid-range pricing. Marina Pacifica attracts professionals seeking waterfront views. Wrigley and Lakewood Village provide affordability and community feel. Near Cal State Long Beach works well for students.

  • How much does a room for rent cost in Long Beach?

Across current Roomster listings, room rent in Long Beach typically ranges from $1,540-$3,000+/month depending on neighborhood, amenities, and proximity to the beach. Belmont Shore, Downtown, and Marina Pacifica often run toward the higher end ($2,000-$3,000+); Wrigley, Lakewood Village, and California Heights tend to offer better value ($1,540-$2,200). Furnished rooms, private bathrooms, utilities included, and beach proximity usually account for the largest price differences.

  • Can I find furnished or short-term rooms in Long Beach?

Yes - furnished and flexible-lease rooms appear regularly on Roomster, especially in Belmont Shore, Downtown, and Marina Pacifica where corporate relocations and university placements drive steady demand for move-in-ready spaces. Those listings often include utilities or WiFi. Just confirm exactly what is included - parking, furniture condition, laundry access, and lease length - before committing. Beach parking in particular can be scarce and expensive.

  • What should I check before renting a room in Long Beach?

In Long Beach, confirm parking availability, whether utilities are included, proximity to the beach or your workplace, laundry access, and commute time to I-405 or your job before you commit. That matters more if you're comparing Belmont Shore or Downtown (walkable but pricier and busier) with Wrigley or Lakewood Village (quieter but potentially longer commutes). Proximity to Cal State Long Beach, the beach, or your workplace often matters more to daily life than neighborhood prestige.

  • What is the best rooms for rent app in Long Beach, CA?

Roomster is one of the top options for finding rooms for rent in Long Beach, CA. With ID screening, filters for budget, location, neighborhood preference, and proximity to the beach, and direct messaging with hosts, it helps you navigate Long Beach's diverse coastal room market efficiently without hidden fees or broker friction.

How to Narrow Down Rooms for Rent in Long Beach, CA

Start your search by focusing on neighborhoods that fit your lifestyle and budget. Consider if a shared apartment or a house share suits you better. Here are key factors to filter by:

- **Neighborhood fit:** Choose areas based on transit access and noise levels.

- **Room type:** Decide between private rooms with a bathroom or shared rooms.

- **Lease terms:** Look for month-to-month rentals or sublets if you need flexibility.

- **Utilities included:** Rooms with utilities included can simplify budgeting.

Filtering listings with these criteria on Roomster can help you quickly find rooms that match your needs.

What to Compare Before Renting a Room

When evaluating rooms, pay attention to these important aspects:

- **Privacy:** Private rooms with their own bathroom offer more comfort but may cost more.

- **Budget:** Affordable room rentals vary widely by neighborhood and amenities.

- **Lease flexibility:** Short term or month-to-month options provide adaptability.

- **Roommate preferences:** Consider compatibility if sharing a house or apartment.

- **Laundry and parking:** These conveniences can impact daily living.

Balancing these factors will help you choose a room that fits both your budget and lifestyle.

How to Avoid Common Room Rental Mistakes in Long Beach, CA

To protect yourself and make a smooth rental experience, keep these tips in mind:

- **ID check and screening:** Use Roomster’s ID check feature to confirm landlord or roommate legitimacy.

- **Payment caution:** Avoid wiring money before signing a lease or meeting in person.

- **Lease terms:** Read all terms carefully, especially regarding deposits and move-in dates.
