Roommate Wanted – Spacious 2BR/2BA

Room for rent | Emerson Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN, USA

Hi! I’m looking for a roommate to share a spacious and comfortable apartment in the Lowry Hill East neighborhood (also known as “The Wedge”). This is a great opportunity for someone who wants both privacy and a welcoming, social home environment in one of the most vibrant areas of Minneapolis. This setup is ideal for shared living because you would have your own private spaces, along with generous shared areas. Your portion of the apartment includes:A private bedroom, Your own bathroom, A walk-in closet. Having separate bathrooms and plenty of storage makes day-to-day living much easier and more comfortable. The shared spaces are open and inviting. There’s a main living area that includes both a living room and a dining space, giving us room to relax, host friends, or just spread out. The kitchen is spacious and functional, with plenty of counter space and storage, and it includes a dishwasher—always a bonus. We also have in-unit laundry with a washer and dryer, so no need to deal with laundromats. Outside, there’s a fenced-in backyard, which is great for getting some fresh air, hanging out, or having small gatherings when the weather is nice. I’m 26 and currently working in customer service while also in grad school. I’d describe myself as artsy, social, and community-oriented. I care a lot about social justice and creating inclusive, welcoming spaces. I’m queer-friendly, mental-health aware, and value kindness and respect in shared living. In my free time, I like staying active, trying new hobbies, and doing creative things. I enjoy a mix of being social and having downtime, and I appreciate a home that can support both. This apartment is a great fit if you want a home that feels comfortable, social, and flexible—somewhere you can unwind, host occasionally, and still have your own private space.

Room for rent | 11th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN, USA

I am really looking for someone who I find a real connection with and that sort-of built-in best friend! That being said, I am certainly someone who needs time to myself as well, but I would love to watch movies together, cook/host together, study together (or any sort of parallel play), greet each other when we get home, talk about our day, and so on. Ideally someone who is easy-going, and communicative. Sometimes I like to make a midnight snack or stay up late in the shared office, so something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. I also would prefer someone who is queer in some sort of way or female, as I am a non-binary lesbian, and tend to find comfort in surrounding myself with other queer/creative individuals. I am open to pets (cat, fish, reptile, etc), though no dogs. I am looking for someone to move-in sometime in June, as my current roommate is moving out June 1st. Base rent is $1500 ($750/person) and we pay for internet/gas (heat)/electricity, coming out to $900/person per month plus a security deposit of $750. The lease goes until December 31st, although I really love everything about this apartment, from the interior to the location, so someone who is open to resigning the lease would be a major plus! We are about a 15 minute transit commute to East/West bank, and right around the corner from Aldi and a public library. The building is a bit over 100 years old, so while the kitchen/bathroom have been updated, there is no central AC and radiator heating. I have not been here through the summer yet, so I can’t speak to how well airflow/increased electric will be. Prior to move-in I would like to set up a sort-of roommate bible/contract so we are both aware of each other's boundaries, rules, expectations, etc:)Reach out at

Room Rentals in St. Paul, MN: What Should You Know Before Searching?

If you're searching for room rentals in St. Paul, MN, you're likely balancing budget, commute, and privacy needs in a city with a variety of housing options. Whether you're a student, young professional, or new resident, understanding the local rental landscape can help you find a room that fits your lifestyle and timing. This guide covers key considerations like furnished rooms, utilities included, lease flexibility, and how to use Roomster effectively to find your next home.

What Makes St. Paul, MN a Good Place to Rent a Room?

St. Paul attracts a diverse range of renters, from students attending nearby campuses to professionals commuting downtown. Rooms for rent in St. Paul often come with options for private or shared spaces, furnished or unfurnished, and varying lease lengths. Budget-wise, you’ll find affordable room rentals more common in neighborhoods outside the immediate downtown area, while rooms near downtown St. Paul tend to come at a premium due to convenience and transit access. Many renters prioritize proximity to public transit and walkability to balance commute times.

Considering your lifestyle and commute is crucial. If you work downtown, rooms near transit lines can reduce travel stress. Students may focus on areas with easy campus access. Understanding these local dynamics helps narrow your search effectively.

How to Narrow Down Rooms for Rent in St. Paul, MN

When searching for rooms in St. Paul, start by selecting neighborhoods that fit your budget and lifestyle. Popular areas often include those with a mix of shared apartments and house shares, offering both private and shared room options. Filtering your search by amenities such as parking availability, utilities included, and furnished status can further refine your options.

Use Roomster’s filters to specify move-in dates and lease terms, especially if you need a short term or month-to-month room rental. This flexibility can be a big plus if your plans are uncertain or temporary. Also, consider whether a room near downtown St. Paul or closer to public transit lines makes sense for your daily commute.

What to Compare Before Renting a Room

Before committing to a room rental, compare several factors beyond just price. Evaluate the type of room — private rooms offer more privacy but often at a higher cost, while shared rooms can be more affordable but require compatibility with roommates.

  • Lease terms: Understand the length and flexibility of the lease, including any month-to-month or sublet options.
  • Utilities: Clarify if utilities are included in rent, which can simplify budgeting.
  • Move-in date: Align your timing with available rooms to avoid paying double rent or losing your ideal spot.
  • Access and amenities: Check if parking or laundry facilities are included, especially if these are important for your daily routine.

Asking these questions upfront helps avoid surprises and ensures the room fits your needs.

How to Avoid Common Room Rental Mistakes in St. Paul, MN

Safety and trust are vital when renting rooms. Use Roomster’s ID check and address check features to confirm listing legitimacy. Be cautious with payment requests—never send money before seeing the room or signing a lease.

Arrange in-person or video meetings with landlords or roommates to clarify expectations and ensure the living situation feels right. Watch for inconsistencies in listings or pressure to rush decisions, which can be red flags.

Screening processes vary, but expect to provide basic documentation and discuss lease terms clearly. Protect your interests by reading all agreements carefully and understanding deposit requirements.
