The rent is $ a month minus utilities. You would be sharing the apartment with my roommate who is super nice, she's and getting her PhD at UC Berkeley. Walking distance to restaurants, cafes, gyms, grocery stores, and retail shopping.I don’t drive and have been able to commute to SF very easily. It’s flat and easy and safe to walk around even later in the day. There’s usually a lot of street parking on my street.I’ve lived in the area for the past 6 months and it’s been great! I love that Oakland is always much warmer than SF. I enjoy getting brunch at The Sunday, getting pastries and sometimes working from Burlap coffee, getting Vietnamese food from CoNam, Taiwanese food from Pixiu Mala, Ethiopian food from Asmara (which has beenthere for like years) Colombian food from Cholita Linda,donuts from Lee’s Donuts and endless ice cream from curbside creamery.

I’m looking for a housemate for an apartment at th and Herzog beginning September 1st!  The room is approximately ’ and has laminate wood flooring, a large window and a closet. It has a lovely bamboo forest outside and gets beautiful indirect lighting during the day. The walls are two shades of green, which you’re welcome to keep or repaint. In addition to rent the utilities (internet and PGE) are generally $ish summer, $ish winter. The landlord requires a one-time fee for a background check, plus one month's rent for security deposit. The apartment is rent-controlled, so rent goes up ~3%/year in July. The apartment is very centrally located.  It’s a mile away from Ashby Bart and Berkeley Bowl West.  We have good access to public transit! 5 minute walk to bus stops for the M, minute walk to bus stops for the the minute drive to the Ashby exit of I- minutes to .  It’s a pretty and quiet neighborhood with lots of flowers and birds, and a couple walkable parks!There’s a large shared bathroom with ample storage available, the kitchen is well stocked with a full-size fridge, electric stove/oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal, pantry closet, as well as a comfortable living room (that gets beautiful direct sun during the day). There’s an app/coin-op laundry in the building (landlord put in new machines a year ago). Lots of stage in the apartment and a small storage unit in the building. Large yard!
