Located on the 4th floor of a classic walk-up, the apartment gets fantastic natural light throughout the day and has a comfortable shared living space. The location is ideal—on a quiet residential block with easy access to transit, restaurants, cafés, bars, and parks. Transit: 5-minute walk to the G train and 10 minutes to the A/C trains. I'm 26, originally from London, and moved to New York three years ago. I work in the art world and am typically in the office Monday through Thursday, working remotely on Fridays. I'm friendly, respectful, and easygoing, and I appreciate a home that feels comfortable, welcoming, and relaxed. Ideally, I'm looking for a young professional who is tidy, communicative, considerate, and respectful of shared spaces. Female preferred, but I'm open to all applicants. I'd love to find someone who is independent, responsible, and interested in creating a positive, fun living environment. The building requires applicants to earn approximately 40x the monthly rent annually for approval. Guarantors are accepted and generally need to earn approximately 80x the monthly rent annually. Application requires a valid ID, most recent bank statement, W-2 or tax return, employment verification letter, and completed application paperwork. There is a $200 application fee per applicant (and guarantor, if applicable). One month's security deposit and first month's rent are due at move-in. My current roommate will be taking some furniture, which creates a great opportunity to refresh parts of the common space together once you move in. She is also taking the cat! The location is 1437 1st Avenue.The apartment is floors up, and there's no elevator, so sadly it's not accessible to those who require mobility accommodations. The bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, a closet, and shelves. There is a box fan, and AC in the common area, but no in-room air conditioning. I live here too! I've lived in this apartment since 2015 and I'm really proud of the work I've done to make the place accommodating. I sleep in a room on the opposite end of the apartment from the one you would be occupying. I tend to be active between 7am-10pm, and very seldom have guests -- and when I do, we tend to stay in my room. I'd ask that you try not too make too much noise after 10pm, and to have guests over at most once/week. The kitchen has plates, silverware, and cooking implements such as pans, the stove, a microwave, tea kettle, coffee grinder, moka pot, and toaster oven that you are free to use. There are some things in the kitchen that I ask you not use. You shouldn't need to bring anything to the kitchen other than the food you plan to eat
