Until then, ask any room listing whether off-street parking comes with it, because on-street space near Colorado is being reworked.
Head south and east. The Eagle Rock Boulevard corridor as it runs down toward Glassell Park has the highest concentration of older, smaller rental stock and the lowest per-room prices in the neighborhood. The blocks around Eagle Rock Plaza, where the 2 and 134 freeways meet, price below the residential pockets because of traffic and noise, and the southeastern edge that blends into Highland Park around York Boulevard is cheaper again. The expensive end is the north side: the hill streets above Colorado Boulevard, where lot sizes grow and rooms are usually offered by owner-occupiers with one spare bedroom rather than by a full house share.
