Fun Chill Roommate Wanted - Sandy

Pokoj k pronájmu | East Sandia Hills Drive, Sandy, UT, USA

Looking for a clean, quiet roommate who enjoys nice nights in. The apartment is a beautiful complex and offers amenities such as a pool, BBQ grills, basketball court, volleyball court, gym, work space. The apartment itself has a fireplace, dishwasher, garbage disposal, in unit laundry. The baths are huge and luxurious with plenty of space to take a nice, hot bath. The bathroom is connected directly to your room and is completely private. There is WiFi already in the home. We would split the cost if you moved in. The room itself is quite large, with high vaulted ceilings. The shared living space is luxurious and comfortable and is great for the occasional get together or party. This household is a LGBTQ* friendly house. You can vape in doors but if you are going to smoke cigarettes please do so on the patio (which is also furnished with two nice chairs and if you want to add plants or whatever feel free). You’re allowed to “smoke” whatever else you want. Please no hard drugs. This is a pet friendly household as well. I have a two year old cat named Pippa. Please no large dog breeds or any dogs that are aggressive towards cats. She gets the run of the place while I am gone. If you don’t want her inside your room you can always shut the door. I will keep her with me at night but during the day she gets to run around. Anyways, please reach out to me if you want to set up a time to see the place! It’s really quite wonderful living here. Maintenance is super attentive and the ladies in the office are so nice. It’s a great place to call home and I hope you find the same peace here as I have. Can’t wait to hear from you!

  • How many rooms for rent are available in West Jordan, UT right now?

Roomster has 23 rooms for rent listed around West Jordan, concentrated near the Jordan Landing shopping district and along the TRAX Red Line, with more scattered through the Copper Hills and Oquirrh areas out toward the mountains. Be ready for a thin pool: West Jordan is a homeowner suburb where about 77 percent of households own their place, so shared rooms are a smaller slice of the market than in a city like Salt Lake proper. Check the ZIP too, since the valley runs together - West Jordan proper is 84081, 84084, and 84088, and a listing tagged West Jordan can actually sit in Taylorsville, Kearns, or West Valley City.

  • How much does a room for rent in West Jordan cost per month?

Most rooms run $650 to $900 a month, with the wider market stretching from about $600 up past $1,100 for a large furnished room. You can find rooms under $700 a month in the older east-side blocks toward the Jordan River and Gardner Village, while the newer stock out toward the Mountain View Corridor prices higher. Splitting a two-bedroom apartment comes to roughly $770 each, so a room usually beats it - and in a valley where rents have climbed more than 10 percent over the past year, sharing is how a lot of people are keeping ahead of the increases.

  • Which West Jordan neighborhoods have the cheapest rooms?

The older east side, toward the Jordan River and Gardner Village, holds the cheaper rooms, with established housing that rents below the newer western developments. The Jordan Landing corridor carries the most apartment-share supply because that is where the density is. Newer construction pushes west and southwest toward the Mountain View Corridor and Copper Hills and prices at the top of the range. One thing worth noting for anyone comparing valley suburbs: West Jordan sits mid-market, cheaper than Sandy and South Jordan to the south but a bit above Salt Lake City and West Valley City, so a room here is often the sweet spot between price and a southbound commute.

  • Can I find a room near Silicon Slopes or Jordan Valley hospital?

Yes, and the commute math is the whole reason people rent rooms here. Silicon Slopes - Utah's tech corridor running through Lehi and Draper, home to Adobe, eBay, Qualtrics, and Ancestry - sits about 15 to 25 minutes south via Bangerter Highway, the Mountain View Corridor, or I-15, and West Jordan rents run well under Lehi and Draper, so tech workers take a room here and drive south. For healthcare, Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley is right in the city on 9000 South, and Rio Tinto's Kennecott copper mine sits just west in the Oquirrh Mountains. Say which of those you are near in your search, since the city is spread out and a few miles changes the drive a lot.

  • Do I need a car to live in West Jordan?

Mostly yes, though it is better connected than most valley suburbs. The TRAX Red Line runs right through West Jordan, with stops at Historic Gardner, West Jordan City Center, Sugar Factory Road, and Jordan Valley, carrying you north toward downtown Salt Lake City and the University of Utah or south to Daybreak. If a room sits near one of those stations, you can genuinely commute without a car. Away from the line, though, this is a car-oriented suburb built around Bangerter Highway, the Mountain View Corridor, Redwood Road, and 7000 South. When you weigh a room, weigh how close it is to a Red Line stop if you would rather not drive into the city.

  • What should I check before renting a room in West Jordan?

Ask how many people already live there, what is included, and whether you would be on the lease or subletting. On the deposit, Utah sets no cap, but the landlord must return it with an itemized list within 30 days of the tenancy ending, or 15 days after you give a forwarding address, whichever is later. Utah is a landlord-friendly state, so read the lease closely. One local timing thing to know: the Salt Lake Valley gets winter air inversions that trap smog against the Wasatch and Oquirrh mountains - January 2026 briefly gave Salt Lake the worst air in the country - so if air quality matters to you, ask about that before signing a winter lease.

Renting a room in West Jordan, UT offers options for students, young professionals, commuters, and new residents seeking flexible and affordable housing. This guide explains what to expect and how to navigate listings effectively when you rent a room in West Jordan, UT.

What Makes West Jordan, UT a Good Place to Rent a Room?

West Jordan presents a range of room rental opportunities suited to varied lifestyles. Its suburban character combined with convenient access to downtown Salt Lake City appeals to many commuters. Using Roomster filters such as move-in date, lease flexibility (including month-to-month or sublet options), and utilities included can help tailor your search to your preferences.
