Private Bedroom for Rent

Pokoj k pronájmu | Ramona Drive, Thousand Oaks, CA, USA

I’m a single female, with one other male tenant, looking for a long-term and cleanly housemate to join my peaceful home in Newbury Park. Both myself and the other tenant are courteous, optimistic, and hard-working professionals, and have an open-door policy to allow light and air flow through the home. I have one small dog and one cat. My pets are my babies and their safety as well as respect of the home is a top priority. We are located in a quiet and safe community, with a community pool and HOA security. I am sober and holistically health-focused, and keep an intentionally uplifting energy in our space. The male tenant is staying until November and when the time comes to look for a new housemate I will include you in the interview process. I have lived here for 8 years and have had many amazing roommates, both male and female, who are now lifelong friends. I am a full time caretaker and doula, and love fitness and health, EDM, hiking, MMA, art and dance, and all things related to birth. We would be a great match if you are health-conscious and active, friendly, and live a life of integrity. I’d love to chat, share a coffee, go for a run together, and welcome you to this home so you also feel like it’s your own! The room is partially furnished, but doesn’t have to be. The dimensions are 118” x 114” and the closet is 48” x 37”. A $1000 security deposit is due before move-in with the first month’s rent, and $100 will be kept for cleaning at your move-out date. If any deductions are needed they will be itemized with receipts. I have very few guests and no overnight guests to respect privacy in the home, and am not able to accept any other animals. A phone call and FaceTime interview is needed before meeting in person and you will need to provide three references as well as submit to a background check. I will also provide references of previous housemates, and I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to my home!

  • How many rooms for rent are available in Simi Valley, CA right now?

Roomster currently shows 35 active rooms for rent across Simi Valley. That inventory spans Wood Ranch, Big Sky, Texas Tract, Sinaloa, Indian Hills, Santa Susana Knolls, Mountain Gate, and Central Simi Valley, with renters often comparing neighborhoods by commute time along the 118 freeway, the Simi Valley Metrolink station, and rent budget. Fresh room listings move quickly when they include parking, furnished setup, or a short drive to the Simi Valley Town Center and major employers.

  • What are the best Simi Valley neighborhoods to rent a room?

That depends on lifestyle and commute priority. Wood Ranch and Big Sky appeal to renters who want newer, master-planned surroundings with trails and open space. Central Simi Valley and Texas Tract put you close to the Simi Valley Town Center, Cochran Street, and everyday shopping. Sinaloa, Indian Hills, and Mountain Gate offer solid value for families and professionals, while Santa Susana Knolls suits renters who want a quieter, semi-rural feel near the Metrolink line.

  • How much does a room for rent cost in Simi Valley?

Across current Roomster listings, room rent in Simi Valley typically ranges from $900-$1,600/month depending on neighborhood, amenities, and shared home size. Rooms in Wood Ranch and Big Sky often run toward the higher end; Texas Tract, Sinaloa, and Central Simi Valley tend to offer better value. Parking, a private bathroom, furnished status, and proximity to the 118 freeway or the Metrolink station usually account for the largest price differences.

  • Can I find furnished or short-term rooms in Simi Valley?

Yes. Furnished and flexible-lease room listings appear regularly on Roomster, especially near Central Simi Valley, the Simi Valley Town Center, Cochran Street, and the Metrolink station where healthcare workers, contractors, and people relocating from the San Fernando Valley drive steady demand for move-in-ready spaces. Those listings often include utilities or WiFi. Just confirm exactly what is included - parking, furniture quality, laundry access, and lease length - before committing.

  • What should I check before renting a room in Simi Valley?

In Simi Valley, confirm commute time on the 118 or Metrolink, parking, whether utilities are included, laundry access, pet rules, and noise levels before you commit. That matters even more if you're weighing Wood Ranch or Big Sky (newer, spread out) against Texas Tract or Central Simi Valley (older, close to shops). Actual drive time to Northridge, Chatsworth, or the wider San Fernando Valley often makes a bigger difference than the neighborhood name.

  • What is the best rooms for rent app in Simi Valley, CA?

Roomster is one of the top options for finding rooms for rent in Simi Valley, CA. With ID screening, filters for budget, location, and proximity to the 118 freeway or the Metrolink station, and direct messaging with hosts, it helps you narrow the Simi Valley room market efficiently without broker friction.
