Seeking House Rental
租户 | San Antonio, TX, USA
Hi! 😊 My fiancé and I are hoping for a little advice — or possibly to connect with a private landlord who may have something available! We’ll be moving to Texas during the second week of October and are looking for a house rental in New Braunfels, Seguin, San Antonio, or surrounding areas. Our situation is a little unique. I’m immigrating to the U.S. from Canada, while my fiancé is an American citizen. Because I’ll be newly entering the country, I won’t have my Social Security Number immediately and expect it to take roughly 2–4 weeks after I arrive. I have, however, gone through an extensive immigration process and background screening, and our immigration lawyer can provide supporting documentation regarding my legal status and immigration process if needed, and I can provide my social security number as soon as I receive it. Our other hurdle has been our pets! 🐾 We have four animals — two dogs (one large and one small) and two cats. They are all very well behaved, have lived in rental homes without issue, and are part of our family. We completely understand landlords being cautious with multiple pets and are happy to provide rental references and discuss reasonable pet deposits/fees. We’ve tried working with real estate agents, but between having four pets and me temporarily not having an SSN, we’re finding that many property-management companies rule us out before we really have an opportunity to explain our situation. We’re simply looking for a nice place to call home while we start this next chapter together in Texas. ❤️
