Hello there! I’m looking for two roommates to fill out a 4 bedroom/3 bathroom house on the west side of Madison. 3 people are moving out, and I already a friend named Aiden lined up to move in. The house has a lot of things going for it, and I’d really like to stay put. I have a cat named Hazel who's a bit skittish, but very sweet. Aiden also has a gecko. Pets are welcome, but I think there’s a one time fee at the beginning. We both work at Abbott Labs over the weekend, but I’m pretty quiet during the week. The neighborhood is very chill, and for the most part removed from the hustle and bustle of the main roads. Despite that, it’s still only about a 10-20 minute drive to downtown Madison depending on the time of day, and a little less to Middleton. For groceries we have a Hyvee very close and Woodman’s West isn’t very far either. The house has a fenced in backyard with a fire pit and a shed. plenty of space for a garden too. There’s a washer, dryer, and dishwasher here. The basement has a pool table and a projector. We have plenty of furniture, but there is room to add things and redecorate to make the space feel like home. There’s a 4-seasons room that connects to the garage and the backyard. The upstairs living room is also basically two rooms combined. We have plenty of room for 4 people to each have an area for themselves if needed. There’s also extra storage space in the basement and garage. The landlord is very nice, I’ve been here for 6 years and had no problems. He’s replaced a couple machines in that time, and always been very prompt with maintenance. I think he’s retired and lives just a few blocks away, so he’s pretty much always available. Rent is $830 per month and we pay for gas/electric, water, and internet. It’s usually around $1000 all combined. We’re in charge of mowing and snow removal. The unit is an early-20th-century townhouse with modern amenities, great heating for winter, and a fantastic location. The available room and shared living spaces are located on the first floor. There is a second unit above and a basement below, with a shared in-unit, coin-operated washer and dryer. The only main drawback of the unit is a lack of easy parking, but there is an easy bus stop right across the street. The unit is managed by a small rental company (Arthur James Company), and the landlord is very kind and attentive while still being non-intrusive. The location is excellent, with lots of small shops, restaurants, and thrift stores in the neighborhood. It is within easy walking distance of Festival Foods for groceries, James Madison Park, and Lake Mendota. It is about a 15-minute walk to downtown, and a 20-minute walk to the UW campus, with bus lines and bike lanes easily accessible. It is quiet at night, with a secluded, almost suburban feel, with lots of big, beautiful trees, but with close access to exciting city amenities.

Room for rent in a single family home on South side. Walking distance to several establishments on Park Street, to Lakeside Coffee House, and to Bernie's Beach. Quiet and friendly neighborhood, with views of the Capitol from Monona Bay. One year lease. Room mostly furnished with my own things but you are welcome to bring your own things if you prefer. Bathroom and other areas of the home, which have TVs and couches and a kitchen and laundry area, would be shared. I am the only current occupant, with my two dogs. I work remotely full time and use the downstairs common room for my work, but this is negotiable depending on schedules, etc. I'm pretty chill and usually keep to myself and my doggos but I'm also very open to interacting when I'm able if it makes sense. I don't really have any additional photos of my place right now as I was originally preparing for a move (no longer) and I need to get things back in order before taking photos. It's 15 minutes to UW Madison and 10 minutes to local hospitals if you are a healthcare worker. The bus line is at the end of the block well within walking distance.
