The unit is an early-20th-century townhouse with modern amenities, great heating for winter, and a fantastic location. The available room and shared living spaces are located on the first floor. There is a second unit above and a basement below, with a shared in-unit, coin-operated washer and dryer. The only main drawback of the unit is a lack of easy parking, but there is an easy bus stop right across the street. The unit is managed by a small rental company (Arthur James Company), and the landlord is very kind and attentive while still being non-intrusive. The location is excellent, with lots of small shops, restaurants, and thrift stores in the neighborhood. It is within easy walking distance of Festival Foods for groceries, James Madison Park, and Lake Mendota. It is about a 15-minute walk to downtown, and a 20-minute walk to the UW campus, with bus lines and bike lanes easily accessible. It is quiet at night, with a secluded, almost suburban feel, with lots of big, beautiful trees, but with close access to exciting city amenities.

It's 15 minutes to UW Madison and 10 minutes to local hospitals if you are a healthcare worker. The bus line is at the end of the block well within walking distance.
