Room in private back house

Комната для аренды | Garden Grove, CA, USA

We have a situation where our current roommate is sticking us with no rent this month and now moving out. So we need to fill this room ASAP as soon as today (Monday). We have a 2bed/2 bath 800sqft house ADU (back mother-in-law dwelling). This house is all inclusive, so it is fully furnished and all utilities, internet, landscaping and maintenance as well as all major television apps is included in the monthly rent. New high tech washer/dryer, new appliances. Everything needed in kitchen is there. This will be for the second bedroom, private bath across hall.We are a 27 year gay couple, 56&57. One of us has moderate Parkinson's disease and is in a motorized wheelchair. The other is his caretaker. So both of us are generally home all the time. We don't have many house rules, be respectful, pick up your mess. No limits on visitors. The house has a private entrance from driveway, your own parking space, large patio and yard. Limited storage out back. You have full access to kitchen and laundry privileges. It is in a very quiet neighborhood adjacent to Garden Grove Park. I would require $750 deposit and $600 for rest of July. The monthly rent is due on the first, no later. If you cannot meet that due date, please don't apply. We have just signed a 1 year lease andwould have to add you on with a $39 credit check.

  • How many rooms for rent are available in Garden Grove, CA right now?

Roomster currently shows 23 active rooms for rent across Garden Grove. That inventory spans Downtown Garden Grove, Little Saigon, West Garden Grove, the Harbor Boulevard corridor, and the Garden Grove Boulevard area, with renters often weighing commute to Anaheim, Santa Ana, or Irvine, monthly budget, and amenities. With Orange County rents high, renting a room is a common way to live in Garden Grove, and move-in-ready spaces near the freeways and Disneyland go quickly.

  • What are the best Garden Grove neighborhoods to rent a room?

It comes down to community and commute. Little Saigon draws renters who want to be near Bolsa Avenue's Vietnamese markets, restaurants, and businesses. Downtown Garden Grove offers walkable Main Street charm and easy SR-22 access. West Garden Grove brings quieter, more suburban streets near the I-405, while the Harbor Boulevard and Resort District area keeps hospitality workers close to Disneyland and Anaheim.

  • How much does a room for rent cost in Garden Grove?

Across current Roomster listings, room rent in Garden Grove generally runs $800-$1,200/month depending on neighborhood, amenities, and the size of the shared home. West Garden Grove and newer builds near the Resort District can sit toward the higher end; Little Saigon and older areas off Garden Grove Boulevard often stretch your budget further. Utilities included, a private bathroom, parking, and furnished status usually explain most of the difference in this higher-cost OC market.

  • Can I find furnished or short-term rooms in Garden Grove?

Yes. Furnished and flexible-lease rooms appear regularly on Roomster, especially near the Disneyland Resort, Harbor Boulevard, and Little Saigon where hospitality workers, students commuting to nearby colleges, and people relocating to Orange County drive steady demand for move-in-ready space. Those listings frequently bundle utilities or WiFi. Just confirm what comes with the room - parking, furniture, laundry access, and lease length - before you sign.

  • What should I check before renting a room in Garden Grove?

In Garden Grove, weigh commute to Anaheim, Santa Ana, or Irvine, whether utilities are included, parking, laundry access, pet rules, and the lease term before committing. Since Orange County is car-oriented, an honest look at your drive along SR-22, the I-405, Harbor Boulevard, or Brookhurst Street often matters more than the address itself. A quick in-person visit also tells you a lot about parking, noise, and upkeep.

  • What is the best rooms for rent app in Garden Grove, CA?

Roomster is one of the top choices for finding rooms for rent in Garden Grove, CA. With ID screening, filters for budget and location, and direct messaging with hosts, it helps you sort the Garden Grove room market quickly - whether you are near Little Saigon, Downtown, West Garden Grove, or the Resort District - without broker friction.

Rent a Room in Garden Grove, CA: Essential Tips Before You Decide

Finding a room for rent in Garden Grove, CA, can be an excellent option for students, young professionals, and new residents seeking affordability and flexibility. Whether you are searching for a private room or a shared living situation, understanding the local rental landscape will help you make informed decisions that suit your budget, lifestyle, and commute preferences.

What Makes Garden Grove, CA a Good Place to Rent a Room

Garden Grove offers a variety of room rental options suitable for diverse needs. Many renters appreciate the balance between suburban comfort and access to downtown areas. The presence of public transit and walkable neighborhoods supports those with daily commutes, while flexible lease terms often accommodate students and short-term residents. Budget-wise, rooms tend to be more affordable here compared to nearby urban centers, though costs vary by neighborhood and room type.

How to Narrow Down Rooms for Rent in Garden Grove, CA

When searching for rooms for rent in Garden Grove, start by considering your priorities: privacy, commute convenience, and budget. For instance, private rooms typically cost more but offer more personal space, while shared rooms or house shares can reduce expenses but require compatibility with roommates. Focus your search near public transit stops if you rely on commute options, or closer to downtown access if you want urban amenities nearby.

  • Filter listings by bathroom type—private versus shared can impact comfort and cost.
  • Check if laundry facilities and parking are included or nearby, depending on your needs.
  • Look for rooms with utilities included to simplify monthly budgeting.

What to Compare Before Renting a Room

Before finalizing a room rental, review lease terms carefully. Some rooms offer month-to-month flexibility, while others require longer commitments. Understand deposit requirements and screening processes, including credit checks and ID screening, which help ensure a secure rental experience. Also, consider the move-in date to align with your schedule.

How to Avoid Common Room Rental Mistakes in Garden Grove, CA

Protect yourself by being cautious with documentation and payments. Avoid sending money before meeting the landlord or roommate and confirming the room's existence. Use Roomster’s ID check and address check features to add confidence to your search. Always communicate through secure, documented channels and arrange in-person or video tours before committing.
