Seeking place to move by August/Sep

Сосед по комнате | Fraser, MI, USA

I comfortably can pay $400 usually 3rd day of month, then 100, on next paycheck. I’m consistent. I cannot pay a security deposit on top of rent. I work part time. I volunteer. I am a double amputee, seeking a place to move, with my cat Nebula. We’re working on ESA. She is my entire world, and I’d need someone considerate. Living with my previous roomie, I had lost my cat of 4 and a half years, we moved everywhere together, but moving to this place, was a worst time of my life. I would like to leave; I tried waiting in hopes I’d be reunited with my cat again- it’s been 2 years... Now in my life, Nebula, would actually do well with a cat friend if necessary if someone has a behaved cat already. It would be a win/win situation, as she was with another cat at one point, but I can only handle one personally; if not no big deal she’s behaved and my shadow girly. I would need to view the place personally to see what is doable for me for my day to day life. I don’t need crazy accommodations, just considerations: of things like easy parking, no silly parking ordnance. placing my things easily reach for me via kitchen/shower. Places I’m open to moving to: Fraser, Clinton Township, hazel park, ferndale, Madison heights, Warren, roseville. Redford (only if it’s near 6 mile area/beech Daly etc. Mount clemens. MAYBE places: Harrison Twnshp, Livionia. In hopes of finding someone I can be friends with, preferably female. I keep shared spaces clean. I don’t mind doing others dishes as long as they’re rinsed at least. I don’t mind buying toiletry, paper towels cleaning products etc for household. I’m hoping to find a kind hearted person, who will allow me to feel comfortable in a home vs staying only in my room. Ideally seeking long-term as it’s difficult for me to move my things, I can’t drive a u-haul myself, so finding people to help is a task itself. I try to be independent as possible, I don’t ask for much help if I can accommodate myself. Thank you.

  • How many people are looking for roommates in Sterling Heights, MI right now?

Use Roomster's roommate finder to browse 102 active roommate profiles in the Sterling Heights market. That pool includes people targeting Lakeside, Dodge Park, the M-59 Hall Road corridor, Macomb Community College, and the areas near the Stellantis and General Dynamics campuses, because roommate searches here tend to follow commute to the plants or campus, rent budget, and move-in timing more than strict neighborhood lines.

  • Which Sterling Heights areas are best for finding a roommate?

For shared housing, many renters start with the Lakeside and Dodge Park areas for their shopping, parks, and quick access to M-59. Macomb Community College and the Van Dyke corridor pull students and young professionals, while the Mound Road and Metropolitan Parkway areas stay popular with people who work at the auto and defense plants. Proximity to M-59, the job corridors, and the SMART bus lines usually drives the search more than neighborhood labels.

  • How much do roommates in Sterling Heights typically pay?

In Sterling Heights' shared housing market, typical roommate rent ranges from $650-$1,100/month per person, depending heavily on neighborhood and home size. A two-bedroom split 50/50 near Lakeside or the M-59 corridor might run $1,500-$1,900 total, meaning each roommate pays $750-$950. A similar split along Van Dyke or Mound Road could be $1,300-$1,650 total, or $650-$825 per person - a meaningful monthly difference in a market known for affordable suburban rents.

  • What should I put in my Sterling Heights roommate profile?

A strong Sterling Heights roommate profile clearly lists your rent budget, move-in date, neighborhood preferences, commute needs to M-59 or the plants, pet situation, and work or lifestyle priorities (e.g., "student at Macomb Community College, quiet weeknights" or "engineer at General Dynamics, near Mound Road, tidy and social"). The roommate finder works best when your profile is specific, since commute compatibility, budget, and move-in timing usually matter more here than lifestyle copy.

  • How do I know a roommate in Sterling Heights is who they say they are?

Roomster profiles include ID and address screening, so you can browse the roommate finder with more confidence. Still, always communicate through the platform first, video chat before committing, and schedule an in-person walkthrough of the place. That extra care matters in Sterling Heights, where a steady flow of plant workers, students, and transfers means listings turn over and rental scams are worth watching for.

  • What is the best roommate finder app in Sterling Heights, MI?

Roomster's roommate finder works well in Sterling Heights when you use filters for budget, move-in date, and preferred neighborhoods or commute routes. That matters in a market where Lakeside, Dodge Park, the M-59 corridor, and the Van Dyke area can all feel like valid options depending on your job or school, commute tolerance, and rent budget.
