Female or queer roommates needed

Quarto para alugar | Grand Rapids, MI, USA

Roommates Wanted – 2 Bedrooms Available in Grand Rapids (Mid-August) My girlfriend and I are looking for roommates to fill two bedrooms in our apartment at Off Broadway Apartments starting mid-August! Located right off West Leonard about 6 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. We're 20 and 21, both students, and both work. One of us attends GVSU and the other is moving to online classes soon. We have pretty busy schedules between school and work, but we're very social and enjoy having friends over for dinners, game nights, or pre-games before going downtown. We usually have music playing around the apartment, are 420/smoke friendly, and try to keep shared spaces clean and comfortable. We're also considering getting a pet in the future, so we'd prefer no more than one additional pet in the apartment.
Ideally we'd love to find another couple or two friends to take both rooms, but we're open to individuals too. We'd especially love to connect with other queer people or LGBTQ+ friendly roommates who are respectful, communicative, and looking for a fun but relaxed living environment.Rent & Utilities* $678/month per room* Individual leases* Electric is split between roommates (highest it's ever been was around $70/person) Feel free to message me with any questions or if you'd like photos of the apartment!

Looking for a couple roommates!

Quarto para alugar | Kentwood, MI, USA

**Looking for three roommates to sign the new lease in the fall with me for the upcoming school year. *House was recently built in . It’s located off of th and Kalamazoo on the SE side of Grand Rapids in a safe new development neighborhood. The house comes with a 2 car garage that I won’t be parking my car in, only a motorcycle that I love riding in the summer time, a back porch with furniture, and a huge backyard with an in ground fire pit for those fall bonfires. It has a massive basement/man cave thats currently furnished with a huge couch, tv, and a boxing/mma gym as well as plenty of room for storage. Open middle floor plan that includes the kitchen, living room space, laundry room, half bathroom, and a closet for shoes and coats. Upstairs you’ll find 4 bedrooms: one master bedroom/ with a bathroom that I’ll be occupying and 3 other rooms that will share a bathroom: Bedroom .9’ with standard sized closet, Bedroom .5’ with standard sized closet, Bedroom 3 is the biggest at ’ with a walk-in closet. A security deposit of $ will be required with first months rent that will be returned at the end of the lease. You will need decent credit > and will have to fill out the application through the leasing agency. We all split utilities which comes out to be about $/each a month, but does vary a little more or a little less depending on the season. Our current lease ends October st, but it sounds like multiple roommates are open to moving out by end of September and we have a room opening at the end of August too. Message me if you’re interested and if you have any questions.

Perguntas frequentes

  • How many rooms for rent are available in Wyoming, MI right now?

Kent County's second-largest city is also one of its least rental-heavy, and that shapes what you will find. Wyoming holds 77,353 residents but 67.1 percent of its occupied homes are owner-occupied, leaving barely a third in the rental pool - so the share market here is far smaller than the population suggests, and searches routinely spill over the line into neighboring Grand Rapids ZIP codes. Roomster shows 21 rooms for rent around the city, mostly in 49509, 49519 and 49548, along 28th Street and either side of Division Avenue. Widen the radius and the count grows quickly.

  • How much does a room for rent in Wyoming, MI cost per month?

Rooms here sit in a tight band of roughly $750 to $1,050 a month, and an unusually high share of local listings quote with the bills already covered, which matters through a West Michigan winter when heat is the swing cost. You can find rooms under $900 a month in Godwin Heights, Galewood and on the older blocks near Clyde Park Avenue, while anything close to the 28th Street retail spine or out toward the Grandville panhandle asks the top of the range. Set against a local one-bedroom at $1,297, a room at the low end runs closer to half the cost of living alone.

  • Can I find a room for rent near Gordon Food Service or University of Michigan Health-West?

Yes, and those two are the reason a lot of people search here at all. Gordon Food Service is headquartered in Wyoming and employs around 5,000 people locally, and University of Michigan Health-West - the former Metro Health - runs a 208-bed hospital in the city with roughly 2,100 staff. Add GM Components Holdings at about 1,200, Michigan Turkey Products at 780 and Benteler at 691 and you have a genuine local job base rather than a commuter dormitory. Rooms near the Byron Center Avenue and Gezon Parkway side put you closest to the hospital campus, while the 28th Street and Clyde Park blocks sit nearer the distribution and plant work.

  • Are Wyoming rooms for rent near the Silver Line, or do I need a car?

It depends almost entirely on whether the room sits on the Division Avenue corridor. The Silver Line - Michigan's first bus rapid transit route, in service since August 25, 2014 - has its southern end at 60th Street on the Wyoming and Kentwood border and runs 9.6 miles up Division to Central Station in downtown Grand Rapids, cutting that trip from about 45 minutes to 27. If your room is within walking distance of a Silver Line platform, you can genuinely commute without a car. The Rapid runs eight routes inside Wyoming altogether, but the city covers 24.74 square miles at low density, so away from the main corridors a car is the practical answer.

  • Which Wyoming, MI neighborhoods have the cheapest rooms for rent?

The older, closer-in neighborhoods on the Grand Rapids side. Godwin Heights, centered around Division and 36th Street and named for the early county supervisor Augustus Godwin, holds some of the most affordable housing in the city, and Galewood - on Burton Street just west of US-131 - is similar. Rogers Heights, on 28th Street near Clyde Park and the old Rogers Plaza, is another place to look. Costs climb as you move southwest into the panhandle served by Grandville schools, and out toward the newer subdivisions on the city's southern edge.

  • What should I check before renting a room in Wyoming, MI?

Find out first whether you are renting from a homeowner or from another tenant, because in this city it is usually the former. With two-thirds of homes owner-occupied and a housing vacancy rate near 3.8 percent, most rooms on offer here are spare bedrooms in single-family houses rather than a bed in a shared apartment - which means you are likely a lodger in someone's home, not a co-tenant on a lease, and your rights and your notice period differ accordingly. Ask to see whatever written agreement exists, and ask whether the property is registered with the City of Wyoming Building Inspection Department, since all rental properties in the city are required to register. Then the usual care: see the room in person or on video, and never send a deposit to someone you have not met.
