I turned thirty on September th last year and am still living at home with my parents on my dad’s property in the country. Finding work here is pretty tough, so I’m thinking it’s time to move out and hopefully find a job in the city! I’d really like to live with someone who’s okay with or even loves dogs, since I have one and would love for her to come with me. I’ve had her since she was a puppy, and she’s now ten, so I couldn’t just leave her now. I’m also pretty open about being gay, and I’d prefer to room with other queer people if possible, as I’m not too comfortable sharing a space with a straight man I don’t know. Ideally, I’d prefer to share a space with other queer women, gay men or widowed/divorced straight women. I’d rather not room with someone with small kids or kids at all, unless, of course, the kids are now adults themselves; then that’s fine. I also like to live with someone who is clean, neat and tidy, as it helps me to do the same. I’m used to sharing a space with a very organised mother, so as much as I hate it, it certainly helps to have a clean, tidy environment: no smokers or vapers, recreational drug users, heavy drinkers or pot smokers. I don’t judge someone who likes the odd drink or bit of weed, but for various reasons, I’d prefer someone who wasn’t heavy on either of those things. I don’t mind sharing space with those who are from different cultural backgrounds or religions, as long as you’re okay with the fact that I’m an openly atheist, so if that’s going to be a problem, I’d rather know now rather than later.
