About me

I am a retired science/medical librarian who comes down to Gainesville for months every winter to take in my annual VA medical checkup, to avoid winter up in my home state of Illinois, and to keep in shape in this ice-free climate with lots of walking and cycling. Before retiring, I worked for more than a decade as a contract reference librarian in various federal agencies in Washington DC, including NIH, AHRQ and EPA. I'm years old, and very fit and healthy. Since retiring in , I’ve spent almost every summer touring for months on my bicycle (over miles in states and 9 foreign countries). When I’m not out touring, I cycle at least miles/day. I do not own a car.
