Nursing Student Seeks Housing

Hi, my name is Ed. I am a -year-old professional (in information technology for the US Army and later for firms like Microsoft) starting a second career in nursing. I am looking for a room within commuting distance of Norwich. My budget is $ per month, and I would like to move by March 1st.

Initially, I relocated from Texas to New London. While I appreciate the easy commute to school, I believe there are better housing options available in the area.

My home in Texas won’t be ready for resale until the new semester starts. So, I need temporary housing for the upcoming term within driving distance of Three Rivers Community College, where I am enrolled as a nursing student, and Backus Hospital, where I participate in clinicals. Depending on where my wife and I purchase a home in the state (she is leaning towards Western Connecticut), my housing requirements may extend for up to 2 years.

While I am a fan of Rhode Island, only housing in Connecticut meets the residency requirement for my tuition waiver. Also, I am cannabis-friendly and an advocate of cannabis for veterans, but I need to abstain to maintain compliance for clinical placement.

The previous tenant of my current dwelling abandoned his cat, Moxie, who adopted me as his new caregiver. He is a neutered black polydactyl American Long Hair with a lovable, occasionally impish, demeanor, and I would like to keep him. Still, I am open, albeit hesitantly, to rehoming him if circumstances require.
