Looking on East Side Manhattan

Hi! My name's Adam, a 23-year-old moving to NYC sometime this summer (preferably August but could make July work). Looking to find someone to apartment hunt with or just join a lease. Budget wise I'd like to sit around $2k or so (but know NYC is NYC so am flexible). Areas I'm looking at are Upper East Side, East Village, Murray Hill, and Grammercy. I'm flexible about most things, will be working a remote job so not to many need to haves, but would definitely like to be close to a subway stop.
