We are two small business owners living near Polo Park. We’ve owned our home for over 7 years. We are looking to rent a large (12’x17’) basement room. It is currently being used as a library and exercise room. The room has legal egress, a double-wide closet with storage space at the back, and a semi-private bathroom on the same level. Semi-private entrance, laundry on your level, and many options for furnishing (bed, crates for shelving, tv, futon, futon chair/foot stool, recliner, table and chair, etc.) for an extra fee, if that is required. Our home is fully furnished and full of house plants. You are welcome to use common areas, but the room is large enough that you could also set up one side for a bedroom and have a small sitting/work area on the other side. We could also help with setting up a small kitchenette in the room. Our neighborhood is clean and quiet, with friendly neighbours. Our yard is mostly garden beds, with a fire area as well. There is a beautiful walking path just across the road, with a creek and a lot of wildlife and an outdoor aviation museum a short walk away. We also have a garden plot at the community gardens. If you are interested in helping out with the gardens, you are welcome to all of the fresh produce you’d like! We’d love to find a roommate who is clean and quiet, and are willing to consider a reduction in rent for a bit of extra help around the house. It would be very light work, and is not at all required, just an option. As an added bonus, I also manage a bakery, and often bring home bread, pastries, pizzas and soups, and would love to have someone to share with (we cannot keep up 😂). All utilities are included. We have streaming services, but no cable. There is street parking, and we are within a 10-15 minute walk from Portage Avenue (bus stops, restaurants, grocery store), and a 20-25 minute walk to Polo Park mall (bus hub, restaurants, mlcc, shopping, grocery stores). We can’t wait to meet you!
