Hello, my name is Jess and I'm looking for a roommate in outer South Rockford to take over the larger bedroom in a bath apartment. The unit is on the ground floor and has an equipped laundry room, dishwasher, oven, and microwave. The complex also has access to a pool, gym, and various other amenities. The building is not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately.

The complex allows cats for a $ fee and dogs for a $ fee. The pet rent is $ a month with a two pet limit, and there are dog breed restrictions. I have no pets and am happy to welcome any brought in so long as they are house trained.

The building is clean and well maintained, with management conducting regular safety inspections each year. The bathroom has a stain on the ceiling that maintenence has cleared, and the unit occasionally carries a strong chemical smell from neighbors cleaning for those sensitive. The unit is also currently furnished, though applicants will need their own bedroom furnishings.

Rent includes water and garbage, and applicants will be required to pay for half of utilities. I am happy to utilize shared groceries or individual based on applicant preference.

As an individual, I keep long hours with early mornings and prefer relatively quiet hobbies. My pronouns are they/them, I work at an elementary school, and I need to check my pockets for rocks instead of coins. I'm a decent enough cook and happy to split chores using any system so long as they're split evenly.

I'd prefer one roommate, but couples are welcome to apply with the assumption that rent will be split three ways instead of two. I come from a DCFS household, so I understand if there are any triggers or necessary accommodations I should be aware of before hand!
