Hi! I’m looking for a long-term private 1-bedroom apartment, studio, or possibly an unfurnished private room in a shared house. My budget is up to $1,400/month, and my strong preference is a private 1BR. I do not drive, so I need to be within reasonable walking distance of an LIRR station with a direct/no-transfer train to Huntington Station. Areas I’m considering: Mineola, Carle Place, Westbury, Hicksville, Syosset, Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington/Huntington Station, Greenlawn, Northport/East Northport, Kings Park, Smithtown, St. James, Stony Brook, and Port Jefferson. I will be bringing my own furniture: queen-size bed, 2 dressers, nightstand, 2-seat reclining loveseat, TV with TV console, and refrigerator. A studio or room must be large enough to comfortably fit these items and still leave usable space/storage. For a room share, I would prefer a private bathroom if possible, washer/dryer access, and permission to have a lock/key on my bedroom door for privacy/security. I am also pursuing remote work, so I would need the ability to arrange my own private internet/cable connection if required by a future employer. I’m quiet, responsible, a non-smoker, have no pets, and am looking for a stable place to call home long-term.
